Cranes For Kids! 鶴を折って日本の子供たちに洋服を!

April 4, 2011

OshKosh B’Gosh, a World-renowned childrens clothing brand, came up with a fun and heartful project titled “Crane For Kids”
to help Japanese kids who survived the terrible earthquake and tsunami.
“We wanted to find a way to empower kids to help children in need by using their creativity.”
That’s how the project started.

When people are sick, Japanese people make 1000 origami cranes held together by strings, called ””千羽鶴”(senba zuru)” and give them as a well wishes gift. An ancient Japanese legend promises that anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish by a crane, such as long life or recovery from illness or injury.
We believe that making 1000 origami cranes makes a person’s wish come true.

OshKosh will collect the paper cranes and send them to their OshKosh stores in Japan to show them the support and caring of their friends in the United States. Every crane you make, they will send an article of clothing up to 50,000.

This is a fun way to contribute to Japan relief efforts.
