I need to start talking about Orcas Island. Because that’s where I found this thermo cup!

I absolutely love Orcas Island.
 

 
For over 20 years, my family has made an annual trip there every Memorial Day. But this time, we went on a quick weekend getaway in March—still quite chilly—because my cousin’s daughter visiting from Japan wanted to see  the island.

The island in the off-season was cold but wonderfully quiet. Our usual stay, Beach Haven Resort, is usually impossible to book in summer, but this time, we had the whole place to ourselves—almost eerie!

It was a bit cloudy, but sunset from our cabin was still breathtaking.

Orcas Island Must-Dos

The highlight of our time on Orcas Island is enjoying a BBQ and drinks on the deck of our waterfront cabin, with nothing but the sound of the ocean in the background.

And, of course, taking in the breathtaking view of the islands between the U.S. and Canada from the top of Mt. Constitution (which you can drive up to!).

In the charming downtown Eastsound, our first stop is always the local bookstore, where we grab a latte from the café inside. Sipping on a warm latte while browsing their beautifully curated selection of books is pure bliss.

For brunch, we always head to New Leaf Cafe at the Outlook Inn.

This time, I had the Wild Mushroom Benedict-and let me tell you, the potatoes were next-level delicious!

In the summer, this place is packed.
Off-season perks=no wait, no rush, just pure foodie joy!

The town has a beloved, classic drugstore that has been a local favorite for years, and stopping by is always part of the fun. This place has everything-Orcas Island souvenirs, toys, clothing, kitchen goods… you name it!
