“You are so feisty!” I was once told at a friend’s dinner party by a new acquaintance.I wasn’t sure if that was a compliment, or if she was being sarcastic. When I looked at her quizzically, she continued, “It is good to be feisty!”That was my first encounter with the word “Feisty” and I have since fallen in love with it. I’ve been described in many ways before, but this one was a revelation. I thought, “I am feisty and I am proud of it!”, as I smiled back at my new acquaintance.
The word “Feisty” is not well known in Japan. In Japanese dictionaries, it’s often translated with negative terms like bossy or aggressive. But in English, it also means spirited and full of energy.
Being feisty is often not viewed positively in Japan—but I’m here to change that.
Go Feisty! introduces Japan to a new way of life: not the “hateful” and “bossy” kind of feisty, but the “spirited” and “energetic” kind.
It’s tough for women to be feisty in Japanese society. “Go Feisty” was created to support spirited and energetic Japanese women living with courage and confidence.
20 years later, GoFeisty! supports not only Japanese women but anyone striving to live the feisty way of life. It’s a 24/7 lifestyle brand for “Feisty” people everywhere.

Feisty（ファイスティー）は、キャンキャン吠える元気な犬が語源の言葉。19世紀後半に「Feist」という犬種がいたことから生まれました。
日本語では「いらいらした」「攻撃的」など否定的に説明されがちですが、英語では spirited（精神が高揚した） といった前向きな意味もあります。
Go Feisty! はこの前向きな「Feisty」の精神を広めるライフスタイルブランドを目指します。訪れるすべての人が Feisty & Happy になれる情報と出会いを提供します。
Go Feisty! のはじまり
「気が強い」「女のくせに」など、これまで日本社会では強く明るく生きる女性に対する言葉はネガティブなものが多くありました。
他人と違うことを恐れず、自分らしく生きている女性に かっこいい称号 を与えたくて「Feisty」という言葉を選びました。
「へこみそうになったら Go Feisty!」「流されそうになったら Go Feisty!」と唱えて、やる気と自信を持ってもらいたいと願い発足しました。
のちにLGBTQの権利運動に感銘を受け、「女性」だけでなく すべての Feisty な人 を応援することへと広がりました。
